Supreme Knight's Page

On Tuesday the 23/05/23 with my Deputy Supreme Knight Danny we had the great honour of meeting with Cardinal Nichols and presenting him with his Member of Honour certificate.
We spent one and a half hours with him talking about the historic part that the Catholic Church played in the recent Coronation of King Charles III, even using robes from our Catholic Cathedral.

Cardinal Vincent showed us pictures from the Coronation and as he said, it was the first time in over four hundred years that members of the Catholic Church took part in the proceedings.

We also had a wonderful discussion on the Knights role in the Catholic Church, as to where we, as a lay organisation can be of most value. We all understood that the Catholic Church is shrinking, but in certain areas there is actually growth.

He was very amenable to our discussion on recruitment but as he said don’t expect the Hierarchy and Clergy to recruit for you!
I would like to say a special thank you to your Eminence for taking time out of his busy schedule to meet with us and making us feel very welcome, it was a very interesting and informative day.
He also gave us a fantastic quote that we must begin to use in our everyday work promoting our wonderful Order.

“ We Need to return to Columba, then we’ll return to Christ and that is all we need for the Knights of St.Columba to Succeed.”
